Election Day voting locations

Find Election Day voting locations in your ward on your Voter Information Letter, as well as on the list, below. 

Polls will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Paper ballots and online voting will both be available at every voting location. Remember to bring at least one piece of acceptable identification.

Every effort has been made to ensure that each voting location is as accessible as possible. 55+ Centre and West Thunder Community Centre meet full accessibility standards and will offer accessible voting devices, hand-held vote selector, paddles, and sip and puff, for ballot marking. If you require accommodations, please contact the City of Thunder Bay's Municipal Accessibility Specialist at 807-625-2240 by Thursday, October 13, 2022.

Internet voting

With internet voting, you can vote anywhere!

Internet voting begins on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 10:00 am, and will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until voting closes at 8:00 pm. on Election Day - Monday, October 24, 2022.

Your Voter Information Letter (VIL) will arrive in late September and will provide internet voting instructions, including the voting website address, your voter identification number and PIN. Use these to sign into your computer, laptop, tablet or phone to vote online, from anywhere.

You must have your VIL to vote online. If you did not receive your VIL in the mail, visit City Hall, email ThunderBayVotes@thunderbay.ca or call our help line at 622-VOTE (8683).

Drive-thru voting provides an in-person, paper ballot, advance voting opportunity from the comfort of your vehicle. Remember to bring at least one piece of acceptable identification.

Drive-thru voting procedure

  • Enter the TBCA parking lot from Beverly Street at the marked entrance (middle entrance)
  • Proceed toward check-in tent
  • Have identification ready
  • Enter Lane 1, 2, or 3 as directed by Election Official
  • Shut vehicle off, provide ID, receive and mark ballot
  • When directed, restart vehicle and proceed to tabulator (AVT)
  • Shut vehicle off, watch ballot enter tabulator
  • Restart vehicle and proceed toward exit on Winnipeg Avenue

Please note

  • Vehicles only (cars, SUVs, trucks, etc.)
  • Motorcycles are permitted
  • No buses, campers, transports or other oversized vehicles
  • No walk-ups or bicycles
